Oleksandr Lavrynovych: The purpose of this draft is to reduce to one denominator everything concerning inviolability of judges, people's deputies, head of the state

The Party of Regions suggests making alterations to the Constitution which would limit inviolability of the president and people's deputies. This was said by one of the draft’s authors, the Party of Regions MP, First Vice-Speaker of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Lavrynovych, AMI Novosti-Ukraine reports.
According to him, this draft is similar to the drafts presented at the previous sessions of parliament. “Its purpose is to reduce to one denominator everything concerning inviolability of judges, people's deputies, the head of the state”, he marked.
Oleksandr Lavrynovych explained that the draft envisages the possibility of criminal proceedings against one and all, but a right to detent and arrest appears only after a court’s sentence comes into effect.
“It is a minimum level of protection applied by the members of parliament in different countries of the world”, he said. Oleksandr Lavrinovych reported as well that the Party of Regions has not yet conducted consultations regarding just this draft, however consultations about the content were held, and there are all grounds to consider that this draft will be supported by more than 300 people's deputies.
