Before his departure with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia from Svyato-Uspensk Svyatogorsk Lavra the Party of Regions Leader Viktor Yanukovych answered the questions of journalists, who covered His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s visit to the Donetsk region.

Answering the question how he estimates Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia’s visit to Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych said: "Patriarch Kirill is a prominent man of Church, the preacher well-known far beyond conventional spread of the Orthodox Church worldwide".

"Without faith a mighty state cannot be built, without faith the society cannot be developed", the Party of Regions Leader pointed out.

"When we say Ukraine is a wonderful country with hard-working people, Patriarch Kirill notes this country needs faith. His arch-pastor’s visit will be conducive to Ukraine’s unity. We have hoped for it for so long. Let us hope to God be it so", V. Yanukovych said.

The Party of Regions Head highly appreciated the Patriarch’s oratorical and evangelical skills. "Each time he speaks, one thinks deeper and deeper... And each time a new page of your attitude towards life opens", V. Yanukovych summed up.
