Iryna Berezhna: The state authority of Ukraine has been reanimated today

11.03.2010, 12:33

Return to the Section

Whatever hard BYuT tried to draw Parliament into endless talks, chaos and anarchy, today the state authority of Ukraine has been reanimated, - Iryna Berezhna, Member of Parliament from the Party of Regions, said commenting on the appointment of a new Prime Minister of Ukraine and composition of the Ukrainian government.

- The process of consolidation of Parliament is over – a new coalition has been created, professional composition of the Government has been formed, - the Party of Regions MP stated.

- The newly established parliamentary majority should go down in the contemporary history of Ukraine as a rescue coalition.

Nowadays the coalition and Parliament are faced with vital challenges: to restore the whole axis of power, to approve the 2010 state budget, to stabilize the public finance system, to support domestic producer, to raise social standards.

Essential international issues are on the agenda as well, particularly, gas negotiations with Russia, signing of association treaty with the EU.

A hope remains that indefatigable energy shown by BYuT in its attempt to rock and sink a ship named ‘Parliament’ will pass on to more constructive course, and this political force will be able to work efficiently in opposition. Otherwise the political future of this party invokes certain doubts…
