Oleksandr - Good afternoon! Could you tell me how to send a confidential letter to Mr.Yanukovych?

- Good afternoon. I have got a question concerning gambling dens... Why taxes and fines for these, so to speak, businessmen are less than fines for drivers? I understand people die on motorways, statistics are collected per day, per month, year... And where are statistics how many suicides were committed because of the debts caused by addiction to gambling? How many families got divorced due to addiction to gambling? Why the charges cannot be raised to these businessmen, as to the people... 10, 20 times?.. Or are they the selected few?.. When will these dens be removed not only beyond Kyiv’s boundaries, but beyond the boundaries of all cities? And what does the recent appearance in the Kyiv subway of blue arcade machines “from city administration” mean? One day the mayor takes them “in bags” out to storages and now sets back his own... Everyone just talks cleverly a lot without any action.


Eugen - The extension for one year (to 2011) of mayors’ plenary powers announced by Yulia Tymoshenko will unambiguously trigger a new surge of confrontation at the local level. Is the PoR ready to hinder the approval of draft on making alterations to the Constitution of Ukraine?


Andrey - When will you put your work on a broad footing in Western Ukraine? Tension is growing every day in our region. In comparison to the East the crisis has raged lesser, but only because there is no vast production, everything is in stuff trade. But I think it will not last long. Yet lawlessness in the state bodies is rampaging in full.

- Good afternoon, Mr. Kolesnikov! How Ukraine’s scenario will develop under crisis conditions? And the second point: you do have so many clever people in your party that I clearly see that tomorrow is with your party. Something should be done! Ukraine has a potential for development. I do not believe that default could occur. I submitted an application to join your party, I hope it will be considered and an answer delivered. God bless you, and be this direction pursued. - Mr. Kolesnikov! I have been permanently living in Germany already for several years. But I, as well as many fellow citizens abroad, still have Ukrainian citizenship. I came here from Donetsk, and I wholeheartedly support the Party of Regions. It hurts to watch what is happening in Ukraine now. The more striking it makes the party leaders’ position towards Ukrainians who live in Western Europe. I regularly read local Russian-language press and I can say that the Party of Regions wages no propaganda here at all. No one helps the Party of Regions’ adherents to arrive at constituencies on elections day. Meantime, they are often located in other cities, and it is especially difficult for sick or old people to get there. The information from Ukraine is broadcasted via Ukrainian TV channels. And it is generally of “orange” kind. The elections are coming. So why do you ignore your fellow citizens who live abroad? Do you renounce the votes (quite numerous) of your potential supporters? You write a lot that it is necessary to focus on the upcoming elections, start acting in time. I contacted the Donetsk regional affiliate of the party two years ago, offered my assistance. I wish I had found support. Perhaps, you will find my proposal interesting.

- Mr. Kolesnikov! Under the present assessment system, one part of Ukraine is subsidized, the other is a financial vampire. The leading role in financial flows reallocation is still played by central “power” in Kyiv, which does not keep aloof from assessing whether taxes or contribution from Ukraine’s industrial heart. Would it make sense even if not to cut these subsidies to economically underdeveloped regions, than at least arrange their address appropriation? To put it clearer, to assign 2-3 Western regions to one Western region and make direct financial injections, segregating risks and responsibility for normal functioning of the system of power and business.


Igor - I suggest setting up “The Party of Patriots of Ukraine” with such core principle as 1000-years-old history of fight for faith, culture and statehood.

- Dear Mr. Kolesnikov! I live in Crimea, and it is very painful for me to see how this region will soon become a hostage of political games, rather than a health resort. You know well that most Crimeans support your political party. It is time you ceased this outrage of the so-called “multi-coloured” forces and get to business, is it not? And what will happen further with ‘Artek’?


Viktor - May I ask what has the Commission of Verkhovna Rada on the NBU work in crediting the Ukrainian banks and driving the exchange rate come to?


Oleg, Kharkiv - In the universities of Kharkiv wages to professors are cut in order to pay out scholarships. Besides that all professors wrote requests for two-week non-paid vacations, though they continue to work, now they have to pay scholarships to students out of their wages.

- Tell us please or explain why cannot we (Donbass) become an autonomous republic as Crimea? Why did not we do this at a congress in Severodonetsk? Until when Kyiv and Western Ukraine will live at our expense and teach us how we should live? When will we go out to Maydan to assert our rights, will there be financing or should we start raising funds? When will the issue concerning the charges from drivers be addressed? I mean the exorbitant fines, all that ‘know-how’ with passing MOT tests.

- Good afternoon. I do not know the addressee of my question, but I think it will be interesting for the whole Party of Regions. Your party commands trust. You have pooled a vast number of experts, experienced production workers, competent scientists and specialists able to organize, develop and keep up production. You have united talented leaders, who passed through all stages of managing the economy, from workers to heads of enterprises, ministries, leaders of political bodies. Generally speaking, the experts who are able to organize the production, so badly needed by Ukraine today. Therefore, I offer my groundwork to your party as I think they will be useful to you. I would like to propose a specific 2-year program of a detailed stage-by-stage action plan on revival of an array of enterprises of heavy industry, equipment-construction, energy and machine-building. It envisages the much-needed products in domestic market, which will help to solve many technical, energy and economic problems in the country. These products will be sold well in the domestic market, what will create plenty of jobs and ensure revenues to the national budget. In case of right arrangements, the products will be also sold overseas. Already in one year the achievements will be seen here. And the main thing is that no special money expenditures are required, only well coordinated actions. Upon accomplishment of the stage-by-stage action plan this type of products will entail the settlement of a whole chain of economic and energy problems in the country. Next year the Party of Regions will come to power, and already today you should begin to prepare for restoring the production so that not to find yourselves in the situation of today's failed government, which ruined the entire Ukrainian economy. The question: Are you ready to discuss the implementation of such a program and, if you think it helps you in developing Ukraine, start to carry it out already today? I will not object to adding these actions to the program of your party – the Party of Regions. There are some suggestions for this program as well, which will really guarantee an increase of the amount of votes given to you in the elections. Yours sincerely...

The banks literally demand impossible things from people, saying they are absolutely right! What steps is your party going to take to protect people in this situation? Marina - I understand the question is not new, still very important for many people: will the Russian language be ever the second official? And it is also interesting to know: if not two, but three official languages (Ukrainian, Russian, English) were proposed, what would you say to this?


Dmitriy - Good day! My name is Dmitriy. Why nothing is done? How are we to live further?

- Dear Mr. Kolesnikov, my name is Lyudmila, I am from Ukraine (Chernovtsy). Currently I live in Hamburg, but I observe the events in my Motherland all the time. I am an adherent of your party. I do not know what happens there, but the only thing I am sure of is that Taras Chornovil is acting meanly at the moment. I have just read on the Internet his interview to Glavred, and I am literally fuming with indignation. Could anyone of you see that everything he creates is outrageous? Or conscience and decency are the terms incompatible with politics? Then such politics are not worth a penny. I cannot understand why do you all retain him in Parliament, why do you let him offend your Leader? In a family (and a party should be a family of like-minded members) no one allows to discuss their problems with strangers. I hope I will receive an honest answer from you.

- A few people understand now the core of the global crisis we got into. I would like to suggest supposedly efficient measures on handling it. I am looking forward to hearing Your opinion on this subject. I believe I am competent in this issue. The measures on withstanding the crisis are the following: 1. To reject external debts (the IMF credits, etc. - timely for Ukraine); 2. To clear the national economy from transnational corporations (not let them buy ourselves up lock, stock and barrel); 3. To protect our economy from the expansion of western capital (to limit circulation of dollar or decline it at all, protect our markets, protect the domestic producer); 4. To set up a union of states (topically for Ukraine as it will not get out on its own) with its regional currency and its economy (to develop a structure of internal economy). Conclusion: we should not continue to pay them (the USA and other western countries. - Ed.). They built the structure where they lived on our account, consumed our money (our labor and our resources), now they want us to pay for their debts (expose us to the expansion of their (and as a matter of fact - our) capital). I think that the above-mentioned steps are one of the most efficient and right. Any others may improve the situation only for a while, and in fact will aggravate the situation in the future and fail to solve the problem as a whole. Thank you in advance for the answer.


Mykyta - Dear Mr. Kolesnikov! I live in western Ukraine, but I speak Russian. Will the second official language – Russian be ever in our country?

- Mr. Kolesnikov, now all of us are witnessing tough problems in our state, which have been accumulating for a long time of our officials’ wrong policy and strategy. Tell me please, is the Party of Regions ready to come and solve a plentitude of these problems? If yes, how? It is a pity that no one is not heard by the others, that is the reason for all the problems. Are you ready to change drastically the system of parliamentarianism, economy, which has failed as we all see it? Do you have a strategy for resolving these and other problems faced by our country? As a Party of Regions member I am also worrying about the situation, when the politicians do not consider the opinion of the people who are dealing with a vast number of problems, who see how to settle them and are ready to work them over. Here an artificial barrier is established for young and clever people able to replace the old ones. What can you say on this subject? It is time you changed this power, it has already done its work and showed results. I am sure that you will succeed in doing it, people have already understood their mistakes! I am ready to support you. I do hope the Party of Regions will come to power soon because millions of people and I already support you. I wish you success in achieving the goals set.

- Mr. Kolesnikov! Please share Your opinion concerning the rating and position of the Party of Regions in the city of Kyiv? I think in the upcoming elections the city affiliate will not pass anywhere, and the events occurring in the city council... There is almost no one left of the people who have supported the Party of Regions since 2002. You recruited people, with such, pardon me, “views” and political preferences (not ours at all), that it is hard to grasp it… But nevertheless I remain faithful to the party and a firsthand participant in all its actions. - Dear Mr. Kolesnikov, I have recently studied the Program for Ukraine’s Economic Development proposed by the Party of Regions in 2005. It deserves attention indeed, and its authors merit respect. But the matter is that during three years the situation in the country has changed, consequently, there is the necessity to make alterations and adjustments to the Program. In this light I would like to ask: is there a renewed version of the Program for Ukraine’s Economic Development? If yes, how it can be seen? Thank you in advance.

- Why does Tymoshenko turn her every routine step into a deed? Payment of pensions, gas supplies. Other governments have been doing it for 17 years “quietly and calmly”. But here we see PR. Media wrote that Litvin for being the orange received more votes for in the past parliamentary elections to the detriment of Moroz. Why does Litvin with raised 3.4% have a speaker office, and the Party of Regions with 38% - no one in power? What kind of a state is it, and what kind of an electoral system is it? I am looking forward to your answer.


Viktor I put a question to You and very often to myself: why does the largest party in parliament have no influence? The status of Litvin’s midget party is far higher than your party. And the party’s backbone supposedly comprises only the cleverest people… Do something so that people would not get finally disappointed with you.


Eugen Mr. Kolesnikov! I have elaborated a unique project on overcoming the crisis for any mining-metallurgical enterprise in the conditions of global economic crisis. I work at ArselorMittal - Kryvyi Rih. The owners of enterprise think that Ukrainians are unable to develop such projects. Do you know the enterprises which would be interested in such projects? polina - Mr. Kolesnikov, please explain to the people what is going on in the country. On all channels Tymoshenko “saves” Ukraine and us all. I understand the essence of her speeches in the following way: global crisis inundated the world, but Ukrainians are lucky to have Tymoshenko. She and only she can save us all. We are waiting for resolute steps by the Party of Regions. When?

- Mr. Kolesnikov, tell us please why none of “all-Ukrainian”, i.e. the highly ranked TV channels, are friendly or at least loyal to the Party of Regions? Why are there almost no unbiased journalists and political correspondents, and those who are - so rarely (anyway harassed by presenters) invited to these TV channels? Yes, I do understand that professionalism of Ukrainian presenters and political scientists is a PROBLEM as it is, but could anyone out there if not share then at least understand the PoR position and goals? Tell us please what matters here more: - policy of the TV channels’ owners (let alone the most odious, everything is clear here)? – the authorities’ pressure on the owners? – the PoR’s inactivity? - For the time being Ukrainian economy heavily depends on Russian gas supplies and so on. What measures does the Party of Regions take to develop the use of alternative types of fuel in our country? How are you getting on in this direction? P.S.: I have recently got acquinted with an invention of Ukrainian scientists, which, by the way, is more than 5 years old, on generating stove (cheap) fuel from sewage. The technology has undergone field tests, its economic efficiency has been proven, and it is ready to be widely adopted. But wherever the inventors have applied, “the cart is still there”. What do you think about it?
