- Good afternoon. I have got a question concerning gambling dens... Why taxes and fines for these, so to speak, businessmen are less than fines for drivers? I understand people die on motorways, statistics are collected per day, per month, year... And where are statistics how many suicides were committed because of the debts caused by addiction to gambling? How many families got divorced due to addiction to gambling? Why the charges cannot be raised to these businessmen, as to the people... 10, 20 times?.. Or are they the selected few?.. When will these dens be removed not only beyond Kyiv’s boundaries, but beyond the boundaries of all cities? And what does the recent appearance in the Kyiv subway of blue arcade machines “from city administration” mean? One day the mayor takes them “in bags” out to storages and now sets back his own... Everyone just talks cleverly a lot without any action.

Andrey, Crimea

- Dear Mr. Kolesnikov! I live in Crimea, and it is very painful for me to see how this region will soon become a hostage of political games, rather than a health resort. You know well that most Crimeans support your political party. It is time you ceased this outrage of the so-called “multi-coloured” forces and get to business, is it not? And what will happen further with ‘Artek’?

Boris Kolesnikov: Everything will be all right with ‘Artek’. The sooner these authorities quit, the faster ‘Artek’ will restore its international fame. As for Crimea, I fully agree with you. Crimea should virtually restore its former status of the main health resort in the CIS countries. To this end, it might be worth considering the simplification of a passport regime, perhaps, by introducing commonly accepted identification cards as in the EU. And, definitely, vast capital investments in infrastructure, in building of high-quality hotels are necessary as much as the air one breathes… All this, I am sure, will help Crimea to restore its fame of a health resort. But I guess Antalia’s way will be more interesting. The government would build all networks and empower business to build all hotels. Definitely, this matter will be number one for the Party of Regions, as soon as it comes to power.
